Dancing meadows (Chapter three)

"It's so cold!" Complained Dance, setting her paw on a lake that had turned to ice. "How are we going to get the fish now?" Said Gray, peering at the ice. "We wait. We'll find something else to eat. And before you know it, it will be spring again." Star mewed cheerfully. "Whatever. Let's just get going. I think these kits are going to be coming pretty soon. I want shelter." Gray growled. Fox narrowed his eyes. "You mean kittens. Not kits." He meowed. "They're the same thing. Kit is short for kitten. Don't you get it?" Gray meowed angrily. "I was just joking, I knew what you meant." There was hurt in Fox's voice. "I..I'm sorry, I didn't mean too-" Started Gray but then was interrupted by Fox. "It's ok. I just wanted to cheer you up, so I guess I was being annoying. I'm sorry." Gray went over and licked Fox's fur. "Let's just get out of this-" Gray started but broke off at what she saw. "It..It's ruined." She whispered. She was standing in front of her old home; but now it was a big mess. The whole town was a mess, even the people. The buildings had been knocked down, leaving big piles of wood.
Gray walked in the heavy snow, glancing at the broken town. I just want to get out of here. Thought Gray. Then, a small mew made Gray jump. She looked around wildly, and then saw a orange white and black cat with a orange lily in her ear, and some weird type of cloth on her paw that was blue. A piece of wood had fallen on her, and she was crying for help. The four cats rushed over to help her. Gray and Fox worked together, gripping the piece of wood in their jaws, while Star and Dance did the same on the other side. The wood slipped off of the cat, and she was free. "Thank you so much! I'm Calysta. Pleased to met you guys." "I'm Star, this is my little sister Gray, her mate Fox, and the kitten's name is Dance." Star meowed carefully. "I'm not a kitten!" Protested Dance in her most adult voice. Star rolled his eyes but said nothing. Calysta drew in her breath. "You guys live here too?" She asked. Gray nodded, Star said no, Fox said no too, and Dance screamed yes. Calysta stared at them. "We uh, we used to live here, but the humans wreaked the home, so we left. We started down that way," Said Star, flicking his tail towards the way they had came, "and then we found no good home so we're going to go the other way." Finished Star. Calysta nodded as if she understood every word Star spoke. "Well, can I come with you guys?" Calysta asked in a tone that said she was not going to be ok if she did not come. Star was surprised she would ask that, but he would like her company, and he couldn't just let her stay here and die, so he said, "Sure, why not?" "But, wait, I have to get something." She ran back towards the town. "Calysta, wait!" Shouted Star, as he watched her disappear in to the field of dropping towers.
