I don't know what I will call the second book for Rain Dance, but I can't wait to post it. So here is the first chapter.
Gray leaned on Fox's mussel. Her pads were sore, she was tired, and hungry. "Star, I think Gray needs a rest. Can we stop here?" Fox asked, detecting that Gray did need a rest. She loved that about him. "Huh? Oh, sure. You guys rest, and me and Dance will go and get some fish." Star meowed, turning to go to a river nearby. When they had gone, Fox asked, "When are we going to tell them?" Gray sighed. "I don't know. Tell them when they get back if you want. I still think we should wait a little longer." Fox rolled his eyes. Then, Dance and Star returned, each carrying two fish in their jaws. Star gave one to Fox, and Dance gave one to Gray. When the cats had settled down to eat, Fox blurted out, "We have some news! Gray's having kittens!" Fox normally chose the wrong time to say things. "I'm happy to hear that." Purred Star. "Yay!" Said Dance. Gray nibbled at her fish. "When are we going to get to Creamy's home?" She asked, eager to change the subject. "Soon. I can't believe that we have been traveling for weeks. I think at first we took the wrong way." Said Star. Fox looked as if he wanted to say something more about the kittens, but he glanced at Gray and she shook her head no.
Star felt the cold snow of winter coming down on to his fur. He shook it off with a cold shake. "It's so c-cold." Said Dance, shivering. "It's ok, we'll be there soon. And we are lucky it's not sticking to the ground." Meowed Star. Gray looked around. There was Creamy! Gray ran over to the cream colored she-cat. "Creamy! Hi!" Gray meowed happily. Fox and Dance came running too, and Star was right behind them. "Mother!" Shouted Dance. The two of them licked each other. "Come on guys, let's go and get in to my shelter that Snow made. It's nice and warm in there." Star nodded and the cats dashed off, Fox, Dance, and Gray at his heals. When the cats had gotten to the shelter, Fox saw a cat that Gray hadn't met before. "Chocolate! Is that really you?" Fox meowed to him. A brown tabby tom came out. "Hey Fox. Nice to see you. I heard you were in love with a tabby gray cat, is that right?" Gray gulped. What was going on? "Um, I guess.." Meowed Fox awkwardly. "Hey, uh, Fox, sorry to pull you away, but can we talk alone?" Gray asked. Fox nodded, and Gray pulled him out of the cave. "What is going on?! Are love was secret. How did Snow know, and how did that..Chocolate?...how did he know?" Gray hissed. "I don't know, but it's very weird." Fox mewed. "Well, duh!" Hissed Gray, spinning around and stomping away. "I don't know what gotten in to her lately," Fox muttered to himself.
Star licked once more at Gray's fur. "There. You look good. You know, you really didn't have to get all dolled up to go and talk to Fox." Purred Star. "Yes I did. It's like a..I don't know what it's called..You know when we lived with humans, and that lady Kate liked that guy Jon, and then before going out with Jon, she would get all pretty? Well, one time I went with her secretly, and then they talked about stuff, and then kissed. Yuck. At least cats kissing is just licking each others noses." Meowed Gray.
Fox had been waiting for Gray to come. He had gotten a fish for both of them, some moss full of fresh water, and he had found some catnip for a present for Gray. Gray came running, and she looked really...good. "Hi. I got us some dinner. Fish. And moss water." Fox said, as Gray sat down. "Thanks, I think. Fox, we need to talk about something." Fox nodded. "Ok well, when the kittens are born, we can't go on traveling. I think we should stay here till they are, and then wait till they grow up a little more." Gray said. "But Gray! It's bad here! That's why I wanted you to bring Dance! Creamy might not want to leave, but I think Shadow does. He just doesn't want to leave Creamy. Don't you understand?" Gray took a deep breath. "Your right. I think we should keep moving. It IS bad here. Almost as bad back at my human place." She meowed.
So, yes, it's a little long.
Hope your all happy about what happened in the other book.
